Within the quality assurance scheme there are two applicable frameworks.

The first applies to the Assessment Centres and the second for One Stop Shop Suppliers.

The objective of the Assessment Centres:Quality Assurance Framework (QAF), which includes standard operating procedures, is to provide guidance to the Assessment Centres in England and Wales to facilitate delivery of a quality assured needs assessment service. This is to ensure that a disabled student receives a high quality service which is timely, effective and meets their needs, at whichever Centre they choose to have their assessment done. All the registered Assessment Centres will be subject to an annual QAF audit which measures the compliance to implementing the QAF Policies and Procedures. The Centres which are audited and meet the criteria successfully will achieve 'Accredited status'. All Assessment Centres will be audited on a regular basis.

The objective of the One Stop Shop Suppliers:Quality Assurance Framework is for Suppliers to sign up to the Service Level Timescales. A 'One Stop Shop Supplier' is a Supplier that will supply all approved equipment, including, if appropriate, a computer system, as a package that meets the assessed needs of the Student (even if part of the package has to be obtained from another company) normally for the full range of necessary support. The criteria of the QAF require the Suppliers to confirm that their procedures are Client-focused, Education / Assessment Centre -focused, LA-focused.

The One Stop Shop Suppliers are subject to a QAF audit which measures compliance to the SLA criteria and those that meet the criteria successfully will achieve Accredited status. All One Stop Shop Suppliers will be audited on an annual basis.
